Beautiful statue made of dry lacquer.
19th century, Shan State, Burma. 55cm!
Strongly influenced by the style of Bangkok, Rattanakosin influenced much of Southeast Asia during this period, represented by these flames and these ornaments.
A face reminiscent of the Konbaung style is also present in the influences of this image.
Dry lacquer work with wooden throne. Finished with glassware and very beautiful gilding. The flames and crown are made of metal and lacquered.
