Sukhothai terracotta wine bottle 14th/15th century

A terracotta wine bottle from the Sukhothai region, Thailand.

Height approx. 26 x 10 cm.

In the 13th century, the production of these export ceramics began, when China could no longer meet the demand from other countries due to internal difficulties, Sukothai and Sawankhalok (both in Central Thailand) then became the centers of these ceramics. That lasts until the 15th century. This bottle (for rice wine) is in perfect condition. These wine bottles were not made to stand, but were stacked in ships like sardines.
